Official Re-opening of the Museum
Tuesday June 19th 2007 was a big day for Ashby-de-la-Zouch Museum when Lady Gretton J.P. H.H. Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire reopened the extended and refurbished building. Over a hundred invited guests enjoyed refreshments and listened to speeches before touring the reopened museum to admire the new displays and facilities.
Guests arriving enjoyed a glass of wine or fruit juice and an excellent cold buffet.
Speeches and votes of thanks were heard from Ken Hillier, Chairman of Ashby-de-la-Zouch Museum, Heather Broughton Head of Environment and Heritage for Leicestershire and Diane Jeffrey, Heritage Lottery Fund.
